 Dr David Whitebread on the Importance of Play and Learning

Dr Whitehead was the Principal Investigator on Play Learning and Narrative Skills which was to investigate the positive influence that a playful learning approach could have in 5-10 year olds’ narrative and writing skills funded from the Lego Foundation.

 John J Reilly, Professor of Physical Activity and Public Health Science Physical Activity for Health, Strathclyde University on the Health and Educational Impact of Active Play.

Prof Reilly was involved in a Knowledge Exchange largely through leading the ‘Active Healthy Kids Scotland Report Card’ (www.activehealthykidsscotland.co.uk), a ‘state of the nation’ report on the physical activity and health of Scottish children and adolescents.

 The Children’s University of Scotland on their Passport to Learning.

The University gives children aged 5 to 14 opportunities to take part in exciting, interactive and voluntary learning activities, outside of normal school hours.
