Children Playing Stock Photo: Boy Jumping For Joy

Seminars on the Scottish UNCRC NGO Report

Time: 2pm – 4pm

Dates and venues:

16th April (Save the Children, Prospect House, 5 Thistle Street, Edinburgh)

24TH April (ChildLine Scotland, 18 Albion Street, Glasgow)

Lunch will be available from 1pm

SACR is holding a series of seminars around Scotland in April to give feedback to the many organisations and individuals who took time to come to consultation events, helped draft sections and comment on drafts of the NGO report, and also to look at ways of taking the process of implementation forward post 2008 i.e. how they can build on progress and press for proper implementation of the UNCRC. The Scottish Government have indicated a willingness to look at ways of working with NGOs to monitor progress, and the establishment of the Children’s Rights team within the former Executive now Government was a positive sign.
