Too safe to Play?
A Practical Gudie to Managing Risk in Play Provision
Thursday 20 May 2010 - Scottish Borders
Tuesday 25 May 2010 - South Ayrshire
Saturday 19 June 2010 - Aberdeen
One day seminar
Following on from our popular and successful conference in October 2009 which addressed issues around play and risk, we are responding to the rising demand from providers to support the implementation of a Managing Risk ethos in Play Provision. Three seminars are now being organised aimed at those directly involved in play in different parts of Scotland. At the October 2009 conference, Ronnie Hill, Director of Children`s Services Regulation, Care Commission said "The
importance of appropriate risk taking in children`s physical and emotional development is crucial.
All activities will have some degree of risk associated with them. We want to encourage good risk management, not risk aversion." The seminars will directly address these issues.
